The Hen and The Hound's season-changing menu features local flavor with a creative twist courtesy of Owner and Chef Tyler DeGroff.
Menu items feature local produce from the closest farms such as the Barbers Farms and Schoharie Valley Farms.
In addition, you will always find locally-sourced beef from supplier and friend Dave at Highland Hollow Farm.
From simple and comforting foods like our homemade deviled eggs or bacon-wrapped cheddar-stuffed meatloaf, to more complex and worldly dishes, such as our popular Creole Shrimp and Grits or our house-made Korean barbecue dishes, there is always something surprising and delicous at The Hen and The Hound Bar and Bistro.


Our Chef



Executive Chef Tyler DeGroff has always had a heart for local food and supporting local neighborhood farms. He understands that ingredients are inseparable with the season. His dishes create a balance of seasonable and local components while invoking vivid and delicious flavors from all over the world.

Tyler was born and raised in Schoharie County. He left for 10 years to work and study in Albany with Ric Orlando at New World Bistro Bar. He has returned with his wife, Mindy, and two young sons, and now lives in Middleburgh, New York.
